David Stanek
David Stanek is a Post-Graduate Research Engineer at the Institute of Transportation
Studies. He recently graduated with a master's degree from the Department of
Civil and Environmental
Engineering. His thesis investigates the preference to telecommute both
from home and from a telecommuting center using data collected from the
Residential Area-Based Offices (RABO) project. The research uses work,
travel, and sociodemographic information, as well as factor-analyzed
attitudinal data, in logit models of the preference to telecommute. He has
also designed surveys for both the RABO project and
the Davis Community Network Evaluuation project.
David graduated from UC Davis in June of 1993 with a B.S. in Civil and
Environmental Engineering. His interests include distance bicycling,
recreational driving, collecting maps, and the history of the California
