He has been the director of the Hebrew University's Institute for Urban and Regional Studies, a Visiting Associate Professor at the Northwestern University Transportation Center (1986-88), and an Exchange Scientist at Tokyo University (1989). He is a member of the Transportation Research Board Committee on Telecommunications and Travel Behavior and the European Science Foundation Network on Transport, Mobility, and Communications. He is also a member of the Cross-Israel Highway Corporation Board of Directors. Prof. Salomon earned his Ph.D. in transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980.
