APPENDIX C: MODELING STATISTICS
C.1 T-test Results
The t-tests were conducted using SPSS/PC+, version 4.0. The p-values below 0.4,
the level chosen for acceptance into the logit model, are marked in boldface type. An
asterisk (*) indicates that there is no variance in the sample (the variable is perfectly
correlated with the dependent variable). "Center" refers to the preference to work at the
telecenter or not, "Home" refers to the preference to work at home or not, and "C vs. H"
refers to the preference to work at the center or to work at home.

C.2 Logit Model Statistics
The following results for the three preference models were calculated using SST.
The initial model has no variables, thus the 2 value is zero. The market share model
includes only the constant term in the model. The variables included in the final models
are listed in Tables 5-2, 5-3, and 5-4, respectively. Under the number of observations
column, the values in parentheses are the number of preferrers and non-preferrers for the
first two models and the number of center preferrers and home preferrers for the last
model.
