Dear Telemanager,
Congratulations on being a telemanager and an innovator! This manual will help you develop strategies for managing your telecommuters.
The first section of this manual provides you will overall guidelines and suggestions for managing the telecommuters. The second section includes hands-on exercises that will prepare you and your staff for telecommuting. The third section is a telecommuter's assignment/checklist that can be filled out jointly by you and your telecommuter and formalizes the telecommuting arrangement. The fourth section includes questions you may choose to ask your telecommuter and the Telecenter manager prior to telecommuting.
Developing a successful telecommuting program is enhanced by setting measurable objectives, taking the time to delegate, communicating with your telecommuters, and in being flexible to resolve any potential problems. By reading and completing this manual, you can help your staff to avoid many of the potential pitfalls of first-time telecommuters.
As your Telecenter Manager, I am also available to help you and your staff with telecommuting. I hope that you will be able to visit the Telecenter in the near future.
