ITS-Davis And You
Peoples’ experiences getting from point A to point B are as varied across the globe as are the world’s cultures. For many, travel is increasingly complicated by traffic congestion, rules that limit travel modes, or increased costs. For others, simply having the option to travel by any means other than on foot is considered a luxury — if it’s an option at all.
- ITS-Davis researchers are contributing information that helps guide transportation policy. Whether making a local planning decision that affects roads, bike paths, and housing developments in our communities, or a state, national, or international decision involving a complex issue such as climate change, the people who work in government rely on accurate scientific research. Institute researchers provide that critically important, independent information that serves as the foundation governments need.
- ITS-Davis students are tomorrow’s planners, engineers, and policy makers. Their exposure — in the classroom and lab, through internships and research projects — to the range of transportation issues we face ensure that they will grow into sound, thoughtful leaders for our communities and our world tomorrow.
